HAUORA

Hauora Whānui is the primary and community health service of Ngāti Hine Health Trust, delivering kaupapa Māori nursing, GP care, rongoā Māori, and medical support. Services are provided at our Whangārei, Kawakawa, and Moerewa sites, with regular mobile and outreach clinics supporting whānau across the rohe.

General Practioner Services

We have General Practitioners at our Te Ara Tū o Ngāti Hine Health clinics in Whangārei, Bay of Islands Hospital and Moerewa. We have whānau enrolments open for our Whangārei clinic.

HOUSING

Our Housing Service supports whānau across Te Tai Tokerau to access safe, affordable, and sustainable homes. Through Housing First Whangārei, Housing First Mid-North, and Rapid Rehousing, we provide practical, wraparound support to help whānau secure housing and stay housed, with referrals to Trust services and community partners where needed. 

Housing First: Whangārei & Kawakawa

Housing First supports individuals, families and whānau who have experienced long-term homelessness and have high or complex needs. It provides immediate access to permanent housing, alongside intensive, tailored support for as long as needed to help people stay housed and address the challenges behind their homelessness.

Our Mental Health & Addictions services provide compassionate, confidential support for individuals and whānau at every stage of their journey. We walk alongside you to strengthen wellbeing, support recovery, and connect you with the right care, in ways that are respectful, practical, and centred on you and your whānau.

Residential Services: Pakaraka & Te Hurihanga

Our Mental Health & Addictions services offer residential and community-based support for individuals and whānau. This includes two drug and alcohol residential rehabilitation facilities, AOD and meth intervention, mental health support, and community coordination. Our 16-week residential and 16-week outpatient programmes provide structured, supportive pathways to recovery.

Our Disability and Home Support services help individuals and whānau live safely, independently, and with dignity at home. We provide practical, person-centred support tailored to individual needs, strengthening daily wellbeing and supporting people to remain connected to their whānau and communities.

Whaikaha: Home & Community Support

Our Whaikaha Home & Community Support Service helps whānau live safely and independently at home. We provide personal care, home support, and shopping assistance across Te Tai Tokerau, supporting older people, people with disabilities, mobility needs, or those recovering from illness.

Ngāti Hine Health Trust delivers kaupapa Māori education services that nurture tamariki, strengthen whānau, and uphold Ngāti Hine values. From pēpi to taitamariki, we manaaki pathways for lifelong learning.

Te Whare Reo Rua o Te Mirumiru 

Te Whare Reo Rua o Te Mirumiru provides high-quality kaupapa Māori early childhood education in Kawakawa. We nurture tamariki through te reo Māori, tikanga, and strong whānau connections, creating a safe, caring environment grounded in Ngāti Hine values. Our bilingual approach empowers lifelong learning and cultural identity.
