Kia Piki Te Ora

Kia Piki Te Ora is a suicide prevention and wellbeing service focused on strengthening connection, resilience, and hope within our communities.

Our service supports individuals and whānau by:

  • Providing early support during periods of distress

  • Supporting safety planning and coping strategies

  • Strengthening protective factors and resilience

  • Offering practical guidance during difficult times

  • Connecting people with the right health and community services
     

Support is delivered in a way that feels safe, respectful, and culturally grounded, with care taken to meet people where they are.

Our approach

Kia Piki Te Ora is grounded in kaupapa Māori practice and centred on building strong, trusting relationships. We walk alongside people, recognising that connection, belonging, and support are essential to wellbeing.
 

We focus on:

  • Whanaungatanga, strengthening relationships and social connection

  • Mana enhancing support, upholding dignity, choice, and self determination

  • Holistic wellbeing, acknowledging emotional, mental, cultural, and social hauora

  • Early intervention, supporting people before challenges escalate
     

Every person is supported with compassion and care, helping them feel heard, valued, and supported to move forward with hope and confidence.
