METHAMPHETAMINE ADDICTION SUPPORT
Our service supports recovery, reduces harm, and strengthens pathways toward long‑term wellbeing for both tangata whaiora and their whānau.

Te Ara Oranga
Our Methamphetamine Addiction Support service is delivered as part of Te Ara Oranga and provides whānau centred, kaupapa Māori support for tangata whaiora and families affected by methamphetamine use.
Support is practical, relationship based, and tailored to each person and whānau. Our Pou Whānau Connector walks alongside tangata whaiora to:
-
Reduce harm and increase safety
-
Strengthen motivation for change and recovery
-
Support goal setting at a pace that feels right
-
Navigate treatment, health, and social services
-
Rebuild whānau connection, trust, and support
We focus on practical steps that support healing, stability, and sustainable change.
Our approach
As a kaupapa Māori, community‑based health provider, we offer addictions support designed to uplift hauora and strengthen whānau. Guided by kaupapa Māori values, we work alongside individuals and their whānau with care, respect, and cultural understanding.
We understand recovery is not linear and support people without judgement.
We focus on:
-
Mana enhancing care, upholding dignity, autonomy, and informed choice
-
Whānau centred support, recognising the impact on and strength of whānau
-
Harm reduction and recovery focused practice, meeting people where they are
-
Holistic wellbeing, supporting physical, emotional, mental, cultural, and social hauora
Every person is supported through an individualised approach that reflects their needs, strengths, and goals, while building hope and long‑term wellbeing.
