Primary Nursing Services

Hauora Whanui provide a range of clinical, primary health and community nursing services throughout the Mid-North and Whangarei regions. The most widely recognised of the trust's services units, Hauora Whanui has an integral role in improving Maori Health in Northland.

Whanau Ora Primary Care

The Manaaki Manawa team are an integral part of improving the cardiac journey for patients. An initiative by the Northland DHB cardiologist, the Manawa Ora clinic, involves all cardiac nurses across Te Tai Tokerau in weekly multi-disciplinary meetings and triaging of new patients using video-conferencing facilities. The creation of this clinic has enabled a whanau-focused approach to the patients' journey, helping address complex health issues.

Te Hononga Hou

Providing Mental Health and Addictions services and Residential Rehabilitation, the Te Hononga Hou team have been focussed on consolidating their service provision and building the capability and capacity of the Team. We currently deliver 6 services which includes both Community and Residential treatment options.

The Alcohol and Drug Residential Rehabilitation Program has been recontructed to an "open-rolling" program with notable sucesses being achieved by participating Tangata. Collaborative relationships have been strengthened with internal and external stakeholders through consistent participation in regular inter-agency meetings with Mental Health and Social Service providers across the region.
