School Dental Services

Another FREE service. Our Dental Therapists treat children from 6 months old 12 years old (or Year 8). Mobile units are located in the following schools throughout the year: Kawakawa Primary School, Karetu School, Te Kura o Waikare, Russell School, Paihia School, Opua School, Moerewa School, Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Taumarere, Pakaraka School, Oromahoe School, Okaihau School, Okaihau College Year 7 & 8’s, Kaikohe Christian School. Did you know that your preschool children can also be examined and treated at these schools or from our Kawakawa Clinic? Please contact us to enrol your child with the School Dental service or to make an appointment.

Adolescent Dental Service

A FREE service for youth 13-17 years of age (from Year 9). Mobile dental units are located at Bay of Islands College, Northland College, Okaihau College, Moerewa School, and Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Taumarere throughout the year to treat your children. They can also be seen at our clinics in Kawakawa and occasionally in Kaikohe. If your child is between 13 and 17 years old and has not been seen by a dentist in the past year, please ring us to make an appointment. If they are turning 18 years old in the next six months and have not been seen in the past year, please contact us urgently so that they can be treated fully before their 18th birthday. Once your child turns 18 years old they are no longer eligible for the FREE Adolescent Dental Service. Your child must be enrolled with our dental service.

Oral Health Promotion

We provide oral health and hygiene education and awareness to whanau of all ages, particularly tamariki. Our Oral Health Promotion Kaimahi can come to your school, early childcare centre, early childcare play groups, Te Kohanga Reo, or community groups to promote oral health and hygiene, nutrition and hydration. We currently have a number of schools, Te Kohanga Reo and Early Childcare Centres who have committed to a supervised daily brushing regime for their tamariki. We are supportive of community events and are available to provide oral health education and awareness activities throughout the mid-North. This service is FREE.

The Oral Health team works to improve the well-being of individuals and whanau through treatment and the promotion of good oral hygiene practices.

Low Income Adults – Relief Of Pain Service

Have a toothache? Is your face swollen? Is your tooth keeping you awake at night? Do you have sores in your mouth or painful gums? Do you have a Community Services Card?
If so, our subsidised low Income Adults Relief of Pain Service may be for you. Cost to you per appointment is $40.00. We do WINZ quotes too.

Affordable Community Dental Services

Need to see a Dentist? Our affordable dentistry services for adults is open to all members of the public. Examinations, fillings, tooth extractions, root canal fillings and more. Patients are required to “pay as you go” (pay on the day of your appointment).
